H&R sport noise

I have a 328i with H&R Sports... does anyone hear any noise from their suspension different than stock? I got mine checked and they tightened some stuff but I still have a knock in the front over speed bumps or small dropouts at slow speeds like drainage concrete gutters that go across parking lots. Any info would be appreciated.

somethings up go back to the shop and check it. I was missing a washer on mine and it was making the glunk and the clunk noise. It could be because the middle screw from the top is not tighten enough, but make sure you go back and check to see if everything's in place. I washer can make a big difference in the whole set up.

Sounds like the top nut on the shock was not tightened enough. That's typically one of the symptoms... The shop should use an impact gun to tighten that nut down since you cannot tighten it enough otherwise. Unfortunately, it's like re-doing the entire fronts again... compress the spring, get the whole assembly half way out the car to gain access, and tighten down. Then reverse.

Who installed mine....DUMBA** Charlie! I would think he would offer to do it because he knows what he is doing... GUESS NOT! I went to supreme power and he said some bolts were about to fall out on the back and he tightened em sooo...but now I need to go back again so he can do an in depth check on the front.

There are three nuts on top to mount the shock right?

The 3 nuts only mount the shock assembly (with top hat) to the shock tower. What I'm talking about is the nut that holds the top hat to the shock. Basically, the "top" spring perch for the front spring. You can't access that unless you remove the spring/shock assembly out of the fender well.

it must be missing the guide screw on top. check your 3 bolts on top and there is 1 little hex screw that lines you your "hat" to the body. make sure that is there. when i fixed mantis's car, it was missing that.

Ya I'm 18 and was looking for a deal and I guess I went a little too cheap with a guy who didn't have much work under his belt yet. Live and Learn right? I guess I've still got a lot of learning to do.
