Inexpensive Subwoofer Setup *insight needed*

Hi all,

So I got bored one day and decided that my e92's Logic 7 System doesn't have enough bass. I started looking through Amazon/Ebay and priced out the following...
  1. Infinity Reference 1062W 4ohm Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer (1100W Max Power - 4ohms) - $48 (Ebay)
  2. Random Mono 1 Channel Amp - 250W @ 4ohms and 1100W Max @ 2 Ohms - $34
  3. 10" Subwoofer Enclosure - $28 (Ebay)
  4. Complete Amplifier Wiring Kit - $9 (Amazon)
  5. PAC SNI35 Adjustable 2-Channel Line Out Converter - $11 (Amazon)
    Total spent: $130

I plan on tapping into the Logic7 high level subwoofer outputs, feeding that to the Hi/Low and then running that directly to my amp & subwoofer. I plan on keeping the amp and wires sucked away in the fold-up storage compartment in the trunk.

What is the best way to wire the 4ohm DVC subwoofer to my 1 channel amplifier to achieve a 2ohm load? I found this (below) when doing some research.. does that look correct?

Is there anything missing from this list? How can I (cheaply) improve this setup? I believe the amp I went with has a built in sub crossover and lowpass filter.

Get Technic's logic 7 harness so you don't have to cut or tap the stock wiring. Your diagram is correct you would wire the sub in parallel.

For now, I'm just looking to achieve a little more "thump" at the lowest cost possible so tapping into the stock wiring is fine with me at the moment. I may consider the Technic harness in the future if I move onto higher end components (which I probably will )

Thanks for confirming the wiring - that was my main concern.

Uh, ok..

Get yourself a better LOC at least, or do you want to start a fire in your trunk?

I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet so I can still modify my order -- Are there any LOCs you would recommend?

That's the same one that Technic uses. Honestly you are better of just getting the proper harness. You'll be glad you did later.

Get a better subwoofer/amp and do it right the first time. And get technic's harness and a good wiring kit with a good fuse holder...
