Sports dpf
Was thinking bored In work one day I wonder if anyone does a sports dpf like sports cat more power but keeping the right side of the law. Well came across a company gad tuning wh advertise a sports cat so sent an email off and this is the reply I got back .
' The sports dpf is a modification to you existing dpf. The filter has one open side and one closed side the gas and car at pushed through a series of flutes that channel gas and force it through a small section of the closed section. This is what cause the blocking of the filter. A sports DPF is made by making a number of larger flutes, for instance making 1 into 5. For a larger area to Improve flow rate and eliminate blocking. Regeneration only occurs when the filter is blocked or is "seen" to be past an acceptable threshold. As the filter will never reach this level we can genentree no regeneration. Of course we can disable regeneration via software of you are worried. Cost wise you would be looking at the £550 mark ' Seems a lot of money for basically drilling holes in the dpf so it doesn't block? |
