Bluetooth not working - Help!!!!!!
I am driving the 320i this year and got the bluetooth preparation installed with the car. I have an XDA 11s PDA phone (from O2). Some days it works and some no joy? Whats really frustrating, when you make a call through the car, the phone rings only and it then hangs for a while!!!!
I am in the Republic of Ireland. Is there a particular bluetooth version I need on the phone? Can anyone help here? Really need a solution? Thanks Gmac. |

I would think it is the phone right off hand. BMW seems to only be compatible with some bluetooth phones (depends on what options they have enabled in that phone). I had a samsung phone that had bluetooth but was only able to make calls by dialing on the phone and using the car as a headset. I have switched to the motorola e815 and it works great. I would suggest that you try to use someone else's phone or go to a phone dealer and ask them to use a phone to see if it works better. If not then take it to the dealer and have them look at it.

I too have a 7290 and have problems. The 7290 will pair with the car first time out, then when I shut the engine, come back in 5 minutes, it won't pair. My thinking is that it is the BMW Bluetooth software as this also happened when I tried it with an HP Pocket PC with Bluetooth.

I have the same problem. I had it checked by the dealer and the dealer could not make it work with their own phones. I complained to BMW Canada and later I got a email from BMW Canada saying that they are working on the solution and ask me to wait. This was about two weeks ago. I will wait for several more weeks and then escalate again.
I think the September and later production batches have the problem. |

CIP 20.0.2 fixed my problem
My bluetooth only worked about 25% of the time with my Blackberry 7130e (10/05 production 325i no iDrive). I got my software upgraded to CIP 20.0.2 a week ago, and my phone has connected 100% of the time since.

I had intermittent problems with both cars (the E90 more so). Since getting the latest software update the phones are pairing perfectly!
