Gutted for you, some people just don't give a shit about other peoples property.

I try and avoid car parks if I can, people insist on driving into a space instead of reversing into one, that damage looks like someone got too close driving into the space, reverse parking is so much easier.

Mine is not as bad as that but i always tell the wife to park next to nicer cars in the hope they wont swing the door open. She parked next to a q7 one day came back to the car and theres a dent sort of 5cm away from the drivers door handle about 3 inches long and its deep and has broke the paint so will need a full repair.

Seems people just dont care these days

I'm really sorry to see that OP... Hope you can get one of those paint less debt removal people to sort it

As for parking I have a general rule of thumb

1) either park near nice cars

Or if you're parking near what you perceive as an idiot eg the persons not parked properly

Just quickly snap a picture before getting out of the reg etc .....I know it's a bit OTT but if they deny it atleast you have their reg and paint etc

Also avoid parking next to people carriers or cars with a baby seat in the back:

Because.....

A) people carrier = kids opening doors!?!?
B) mothers opening doors.... all they care about is the baby!

Nothing would have helped OT.... just a retarded driver! Yes, it doesn't surprise me they never left a note but I can guarantee someone saw it..... why didn't they leave a note!!!

I hope the repair isn't too painful on the wallet!

Im sorry but thats just wrong mate, having kids myself its hard enough trying to get them out as it is when your on your own, thats what they are for not single people parking in them, if i ever see anyone parking in them without kids i always say something, you dont park in a disabled bay so why do it in a mother and baby bay

Anthony sorry to see what happened to your car.

Maybe he thinks that having kids is a lifestyle choice but being disabled isn't. Once you start having special parking for lifestyle choices why not have wider bays for people with nice cars?

Oh yeh totally agree having kids is a lifestyle choice, but if his car got hit in a normal space by a car with a baby seat in the back, because someone else like him has parked in a mother and baby bay without having kids he would be flipping his lid

It was only a "maybe". Neither of us know what he thinks or what would make him flip his lid. It is interesting, though, in a store where I shop there is preferential parking for loyalty card holders. I don't know how they enforce this (I expect they don't) but this is a long way from helping out wheelchair users.

Good to see you the other day. Sorry to see this mate, hope you get it sorted. If the scratches are not 100% gone you may be able to wet sand the area and sort with a DA (If its just light lacquer damage, that is!). The dent you may be able to PDR it out (if it isn't double skinned there, I think it should be do-able there).

I know a guy who is top notch at paintless dent removal. I'm sure he can give you a quote if you send some pics of the damage to him. Let me know if it helps you.

But the spaces are there so you don't damage other peoples cars getting the kids out.

So when selfish pricks take the space up it means you have to park in a regular space which are always too small to get out of if you are taking the baby into the store in their seat.

Also, the kids spaces are generally close to the entrance so the children only have to cross one lane, which is much safer.

This thread just sums up how inconsiderate people are getting all round really. Such a shame.

I don't disagree. The abuse of the designated parking spaces is obvious. If you do a quick average of the vehicle value of the disabled spaces in the car parks where I live and compare it to the regular spaces, you would be forgiven for thinking that being disabled must pay well.

Feel sorry for you.

This kind of thing happens a lot.

Someone hit my dad's new car last week.
