auto dip wing mirrors

Hello all.

I have a 07 e91 320d m sport and was wondering if getting the mirrors to dip when you select reverse could be "coded in" or if it needs the mirrors changing to the power fold versions?

My mirror dips but doesn't power fold, so you may be able to code

You diffidently don't need power hold versions .

My car is pretty basic due to what I could afford/allowed to spend so I went for low miles, one owner over options and higher miles. Hence no auto wipers,headlights or dip mirrors

Didn't think I'd really mind coming from an older car but it's funny how's little bits can start to be annoying after a while lol.

If your car does have it the mirror selector on the door has to be on the right hand side mirror for the left mirror to dip.

Auto dip and folding mirrors are very closely linked. If you have one and do not have the other, you can always retrofit it.
Lets put it this way. If you have 3 pin mirrors installed on your car and you have just auto-dip, then you can install the folding mirrors and vice versa.

I doubt it mate, as on E90 / E91 they mostly come with non-folding and no auto-dipping.

If your car has folding mirrors, then yes its a matter of coding.

As Russ.C mentioned above, if you haven't already, try putting it in reverse with the mirror selector set to left and then set to right; one of them (right, I think) enables the auto-dip on mine, but when it's in the other position the auto-dip is disabled. I don't have auto-folding mirrors.

I'll check later tonight but pretty sure it's been in both positions when I've been reversing into a space and no auto dip.

Guess I'll have to add power folding mirrors to my upgrade list lol
