Basically my idrive threw up the other day several faults to do with my abs, traction control.

My cobb won't pull any codes through the obd though.

Did abit of searching on here and found apparently the abs pump is a common problem and was wondering if any one has had this done and at what sort of cost?

We've done shed loads of these however yours isn't the cheaper option. The 4 cylinder units are around £160ish + VAT to buy max 2.2 hours to remove fit with the required brake fluid change. And coding will be required to get everything up and running.

The six cylinder cars a different beast, BMW actually offer a repair kit but it's actually not widely promoted shall we say but this repair kit is still £890ish + VAT to buy and the same rule goes for fitting and brake fluid change(all required for warranty procedure) the unit if course will require coding as well as per 4 cylinder unit.

The other option is get your unit refurbished ECU testing for example can get this done die you for around £285+VAT downside your cars off the road for around 7 working days with of course the same fitting coding requirements.

With a decent diagnostic we look for the dreaded control unit internal or control juicy connection fault I've forgotten the code but it's something like 5DF1 or something like gnat we use AutoLogic and once put in there it's easy to get a straight answer to the cause.

Sorry forgot to put ghost units around £1680+VAT. Quite eye watering hence why the ECU testing opinion is getting fairly popular if you have an aftermarket warranty they are now going down this route rather than simply replacing the unit as it's cheaper fir them

If you're only replacing the hydraulic part of the pump unit there is no 'coding' to be done ,only a quick erase if fault codes.
