[Wheel Refurb] Time for something new... BUT i'm stuck!
I was never 100% about my wheel refurb when i had them done.
I was always unsure of the colour. They are currently Champagne Quarts Metallic, a BMW individual colour. There are times when i like the colour but recently, i've been hating the finish when in direct sun light. Here are some recent pictures showing how they respond in different lighting conditions. Please give me some ideas as I am not sure what would be best to bring out the best in the car? Do i go darker? Lighter? Bright Aston Blue centres to match my blue accents? Or even fully polished? |

Im definietly considering polished, but maintaining polished rims is a pain in the ass!
Definitely not colour code the same as the car... Black on black has been abused and doesn't look right imo... But with a polished lip, i could get away with it? Last edited by Josh1a1h; 05-06-2014 at 03:40 AM.. |

I definitely wouldn't do gold bro... I always liked a bronze, but i know a certain someone going down that route, so i'll leave it that for now...
I have been online and nothing has really caught my eye much... 313 Colour? Full Polished Dark Gunmetal and polished lip... hmmm doesn't look great any more imo... Black on Black... maybe if i did a gloss finish with more blue sparkle in it, it could possibly work as i have a polished lip to break up the black? Dark GUnmetal again... Just doesn't seem to do it for me anymore... More shiny stuff... Gunmetal with polished lip kind of looks good here.. Just look past the lambo doors BLUE FACES ??? |

Thanks for chiming in lads.
Ohhhh Chrome Shadow Paint which was found on the OEM E39 M5s back in 1998 looks pretty nice! I could do the faces like this then go with a really polished lip, or for easier maintenance , just do the whole wheel and lip! The M5 board have a whole load of info on getting the chrome shadow process right http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...finishing.html |

I've just had Style 225M wheels full refurbished in black chrome (shadow chrome) at The Wheel Specialist in Manchester. I'll try and get some pictures up.
They do a black powdercoat base, followed by the chromed paint and then clear coat. |

It is obviously not polished...but looks like bare metal? Quote:
They have helped a lot actually! I realised i definitely do not want a colour lol A traditional Alloy wheel colour or something similar to what JP.Williams has posted. Quote:
i like the idea that the faces would be a little darker compared to the polished lips. Quote:

I don't like catching peoples eyes with bold wheel colours. Want the whole package to do the job. |

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ubu58478c...C1MX5udwF0EDha You'll have to excuse the wheel nut covers, trying to find some options to cover up my rusty nuts! These wont be staying... |
