Cree angel eyes fitment issue lci ahl
Hi I have adaptive xenon lci headlights in my car. Last week I purchased 32W H8 CREE LED Angel Eyes from ebay (linked below). I seem to be having an issue fitting them into the headlight housing. The heatsync on the ae bulb seems not clearing a component inside the headlight. I don't want to get too rough trying to fit it in, so I messaged the seller about the issue, and I'm waiting to hear back. Can someone tell me if these bulbs are incorrect for an lci xenon ahl?

I'm pretty sure this issue has been brought up in the past. When these were manufactures they were probably never tested on cars to see if they would actually fit.
Also, on the E90 LCI Xenon headlights there is a small black piece towards the back of the headlight that has wires attached to it with a zip tie. Most of the time you need to pull this off of the pin first and that will give you some extra clearance. If that doesn't work contact the seller on e-bay and get a refund setup right away. After that definitely look into a set that will fit, and the vendors here on the forum all set lights that will fit. The big question how bright do you want the lights and who do you want to deal with as a vendor. |

Let us know if you get them fitted and how they look. Looks like they're running four XM-L emitters per unit, so they might be decent for the money.

Like most of the lights out there, these will most likely dim just like the stock bulbs so they will be about 1/3 the potential output when the headlights are on. We are working on something with different emitters that will be even brighter then this XM-L and will be 100% brightness all the time

alright so the seller did not confirm if these are correct or not, but said that they would accept a return. However I still do need AE bulbs..
thanks for the advice, so I slid off a connector from this peg on the inside of the head light which gave me a tiny bit more room, but it wasn't enough. Inside the headlight is this peg which appears to be holding a pair of wires neatly off to the side. That is what is obstructing the AE from going straight into the retaining socket, the peg is coming into contact with the heat sync on the AE and making it crooked. |

Buy from a vendor on here that has proven set ups that work. The ebay sellers just sell generic garbage at cut rate pricing to lure you guys in. At least for all the products I sell they are actually tested on this platform before we open up sales to public. I see too many guys as of lately shopping on ebay for some reason and then getting inconvenienced like this. I would return them and pick up a proven set.

Alright thanks for the feedback, I will check out those dtecs as repeatedly mentioned ahah. As for the ebay lure, yea... I just didn't want to pay over 100$ for AE bulbs, its too difficult to justify on a nonessential, visual mod, granted its nice looking. I saw people rate these cree bulbs well but I guess the seller just didn't know what they fit.

I contemplated putting discontinued stuff on ebay just to off load inventory but between the obnoxious ebay fees and then the fear of customers being disappointed with inferior products it's not worth it. In defense to $100 AE solutions it's a lot cheaper then going custom which could cost upwards of $500 or more. |

You can see a small gap between the o-ring and the base of the socket. The metal still appears too large and the light won't sit right. If it's not in all the way and twisted then the outer rings will look terrible since it's not aligned.
We found this out years ago when first designing the lux h8 lights and that is when we designed the diamond shape that revolutionized the market. |
