Aftermarket USB
My car was on the lot and didn't come with 6FL. Using the aux is becoming an annoyance.. as it doesn't charge the iPod or display tracks on the iDrive.
Is anyone aware of an aftermarket USB connection for the E92? This would be huge. TIA Edit: Found what I was looking for Last edited by BMdblU; 11-29-2007 at 12:00 AM.. |

When you post a question and then find the answer, its generally a good practice to post the answer you found. That way, other people (and people who search) can also use that information.

we are thinking to make a module box for the idrive (all in one)
which included wifi, usb, ipod, dvd video, HD, backup camera etc. more affordable for everyone. Kinda like the Nav2GO. |

When do you think this would be available? I'd buy it!

Search other forums on the BMW ACM. This retrofit kit is supplied by BMW and allows VIDEO playback and with a USB-ACM kit you can connect an external USB harddrive with VIDEO & AUDIO to replay using the i-drive knob. It shows the file names on the screen.

I've just ordered one of these and am having it fitted next week. I'm in the UK and it's been recommended in the UK forum - having 6FL retrofitted was cost prohibitive I'll post back once I'm using it

Been using the moBridge for about a month now. On the whole very pleased with it My car does not have idrive so the UI is more restricted than in an idrive car. However, I can use all my playlists, browse by artist, song, genre, podcasts etc, and the currently playing track will be displayed. Can't seem to find a way to search, but organising playlists properly largely eliminiates the need for that. I've add a very occasional glich where the head unit won't display which song is being played, but just displays the track number but then catches up pretty soon afterwards, and it can be a little slow when browsing. It also charges the 3G iphone and can skip tracks by using the steering wheel controls and pauses playback if you're using the TP facility of the head unit and a traffic announcement comes over the radio, and ten switches back when the announcement is over.
