e90 lci front splitter fitment question
I have a question to those who've installed OE bumper e90 LCI front splitters.
I think it's fiberglass, so it's extremely inflexible, and the fitment as-is is fairly disappointing. Question: What did you guys have to do to make them fit? The brand is JBSPEED which seems to have gotten a lot of positive reviews on this forum, which is confusing me -- many members all must have faced this issue during install, and I couldn't find any posts with tips, other than "sanding the insides for a more flush fit". I'm not sure sanding will get the fit any closer, but you be the judge: Material: Aligned to wheel-well: Aligned to front-middle: Aligned to front-middle, side view: Any advice would be appreciated. |

You need to make sure they are warm. Apply 3m to the inside of the lips. Start from the fender side and press against bumper as you work towards the middle of the bumper. Make sure to mark with tape where it should go. Then apply the two screws on the bottom. Painted tape in place for a bit and apply pressure across as well.

Thanks, but these are not going to bend at anything near room temperature, or with hair dryer of any sort. I don't think fiberglass is really a bendy material, unless I'm either wrong about that fact or about these being made of fiberglass.
Are you suggesting heating the heck out of them with heating gun? |
