Rear coaxial suggestions? Sub/box suggestions?
So I just recently installed the following in my base audio e92...
Pioneer avic-4600bt JL XD600/6 JEHNERT FLAT-Line front stage (tweeter/door/under seat) MB Quart ONX-110. Problem 1) the MB quarts cannot handle any power. They may have already blown but I get slight music and pure static from them. I need a suggestion (coaxial, midrange, or component) for the rear that can handle the 75w RMS that the amp is putting out. The highs from the jehnerts are pretty good so I was considering a midrange for the rear. Has anyone fit a larger speaker in the factory rear side panels? Problem 2) the Jehnert bass is pretty good... Not good enough for me. I'm a bass head (21 year old guy, what do you want from me? Lmao). I have the grilles installed over the under seats. Should I remove them for better bass? Or should I run them as midbass speakers and install a box/bass amp? What type of box would be ideal for this car? Thanks! |

Did you use a high-pass crossover on the coaxes? If not, that may be your problem. But then again, they can only handle 30W RMS . Most coaxes I've seen are in the 30 - 50W range. Question is, do you really need that much volume in the rear?
For a subwoofer, the two most popular options are infinite baffle through the ski-pass (does not work if you have folding seats), or a corner loaded enclosure with a 10 or 12" subwoofer.

I have folding seats. Does anyone do a potted box with a port through the rear deck? |

What do you mean it's sealed from the trunk? You have a wall of some sort behind the box?

Here is a picture. The box is a 14x14x36. I made the front baffle and it attaches using 16 neodymium magnets.
