Opinion needed about BMW service!!
Hi guys im sure im like the 1000th story about mistreated BMW customers.
This is my story. I got my e92 335 last June and a couple of months after that i was getting some problems. 1.My seat belt thing kept getting stuck out. 2.My sunroof was rattling 3.One of my rear brakes was skweeking for when i would accelerate from 0-20kmh. I know this is a common problem i read the threads. So in August brought my car in for and oil change, and told them about my problems and insiste on my rear brakes making noise. I told them that my brakes only made noise after my brakes were hot and he would need to drive it for a while. I go pick up my car: 1. Half my car is washed, the bottom 3 inches of my car were mudy and the top was clean. 2. They ordered my parts. (which was fine) 3. And obviouslt told me that they did not hear anything coming from my breaks. Chek how much my car was driven... 1 km. So i tell the guy i told you to drive not move it around... He told me to bring it in after i heat the breaks so the the technician can hear it. At this point im furious. I get in my car i see that one of the button of my seat is on the floor.(the round one the supports the back) i tell the guy and he puts it back himself. I get home and realize that not only does my button not work, but my lumbar support also doesnt work and so does my passengers???? So i ignore this for 3 months and bring it in 2 ago week. The week before that i think i poped a speaker but im not sure... So i bring it in and tell the new guy. That my speaker is like crakling and to install the parts they got me for my sunroof, seat belt, and fix my seats. I took them 3 days and they gave me a beat up 325 that smelled like cigarettes and that had almost bald 4 season tires ( im from montreal and it was snowing at the time). I get my car back. they fixed my seatbelt and sunroof and put the missing button back on my seat. The guy tells me the crakling was coming from a bottle of water under my seat... and i tell him no its a craking sound that is high pitch blah blah blah. im driving home and realise that my seat still does not work. I call them instantly and i get my service guy's voice mail. 1 week passed no call back. So i call to file a plaint and they send me to the manager of service voicemail and its been a week and no call back... what should i do???? Im fed up and soooo angry! |

That's total BS. Go to a different dealer but still follow up until you can file a complaint on that dealership. Next time you have an issue don't wait so long before going in; sometimes they think you are full of it if you say oh 3 months ago blah, blah, blah. Then they will treat you accordingly.

It is not readily apparent from your tale of woe to what degree your dealer is inept, or to what degree you are prone to over reaction and poor and abrasive communication.
Judging by the number of horribly misspelled words in your writing, I suspect at least a good deal of the latter.

English might not be his first language. I am from Sherbrooke, Quebec. I studied in Mtl and only really learned english when I got my first posting (in the military) in 2000. Lots of mainly french speaking folks in Mtl.

You should find another dealer then try to start a good relationship with one Service Advisor. If you keep changing from one SA to another, that is waste of time. Also, don't wait and check your car carefully before leaving dealer. I usually drive my car to dealer parking lot so I can check my car without being bother by people in service.
Keep calling to file your complaint and find another dealership. You might have friend to hook you up with a good SA. Good luck

Remember, its not BMW, its the dealership. I fortunately have the number 1 or 2 rated service center in the country. They never question anything, always ask if I have to be anywhere and offer a car, even if just getting an oil top off, nice couches, chairs, wi-fi, flat screens. They are always willing to help out or give you a car you might be thinking about buying next etc. I feel for those of you who have issues, but just remember its not BMW, its the dealer themselves. Find one that works for you and develop a relationship with them.

I will actually ask them what their rating is... I would honestly be amazed if they had an answer to that question.
English is my third language, and I had about 4 min to type all of that... That is why my post was so badly typed lol My first SA left BMW, that is why I was assigned a new one. Regardless of how badly I communicate them, any decent dealership would return their customers phone calls. Is there a website or phone line that has the BMW rating. There are three BMW dealerships in my area. |
