Question E90 2006xi rear diffuser questions?

Was rear-ended the other day and need a new front & rear bumper on my 2006xi. Was thinking of adding a diffuser in the rear since I need a new front and rear end anyway. E-Bay has these cheaper ones ($125) that I like - I know they aren't the best, but for the price was thinking about ordering it and having the body shop paint and install professionally.
Also, does anyone know if these mount over the existing lower bumper?? I believe my OEM bumper is 1-piece?? Not sure how that works.

See attached photo from Ad.

Think I figured out that I need an M-Tech bumper in order to do any type of diffuser.

Are their other options other than M-Tech bumpers to choose from?

the one you posted is made for the OEM bumper, but from what i understand, you cut the lower half of your bumper off and bond this to it.

get an mtech

Anyone recommend a good place / competitive $ to purchase a new Mtech rear bumper for my 2006xi? Thanks.

It goes over your oem bumper. I'll be changing my bumper soon so unless you have the body shop mold this piece into your oem bumper I wouldn't recommend it.

Get an M tech from JG MODS. Or eBay has a M3 rep for $350 shipped.

I'm running that rear bumper piece on my car now

You might have to wait though it seems like they are out of stock everywhere

So do you have to replace the whole bumper or are you trying to hide the hit with that "diffuser" ? I don't get the point of buying another bumper and then spend an extra $125 on that piece. Matter as well just buy the mtech. The mtech has the option of a diffuser and you can change it with a carbon fiber one or another one that you will like. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT DIFFUSER. There is one that has the single cut out (325i, 328i, 330i) and there is the double cut out (335i, 335is)

Definitely going with the MTech bumper and think I've decided on the performance rear diffuser ( IS diffuser ).
