Fitting Aftermarket DRL's

I am in the process of fitting a pair of DRL's to my E90. Has anyone got any tips on wiring these so that they are road legal?
My car is non iDrive and has Halogen Lighting.
I have a wiring harness which is supposed to turn the DRL's off when the side/main beam lights are on, but I can't get it to work.
Any advice would be great.

DRL Wiring

Thanks for the link. This is the harness I bought on Ebay but the instruction and wiring diagram is difficult to understand. They refer to splicing into the "Width Light". Where and what is the width light? I asked the supplier of the harness this question but am still at a loss as to where it is.

The width light must be the side marker light, that marks the car's width, so to say. Our angel eyes must be the width light I guess.

DRL Wiring

"Width Lights & Side Marker Lights." These terms are not making sense to me

On the front of the car there are Side Lights, Headlights, Turn Signal Lights the Trafficator lights on the mudguard and the Fog Lights.

Can someone tell me the proper way to wire these DRL's using the above terminology.

Side lights are width lights as previously mentioned. If your finding the wiring too hard maybe take it to a garage somewhere to have it done as things like this end up turning into a nightmare.

I converted my fogs using LED bulbs and a kit from eBay.

Since you do not have angel eyes (2007 halogen model), you definitely have another side marker light. They should be near your front, side blinkers. As to the wiring, we can not help you if you do not post the wiring diagram that came with the DRL that you bought. There are many combinations with some taking live feed from the battery while others taking live feed from side marker lights. Then again there are some that that dim when you switch on low beam while others shut off while switching on the low beam. Try posting the web site of the DRL manufacturer and the wiring instruction and we will help you.
I personally use a Ring Lyra DRL wityh my own home made switching relay.

There are some videos in the internet from Ring and Philips explaining how to connect the switching module to battery, side lights and the DRL itself. Check out here.
