Top Gear test drives the VXR8.

Definitely not as good as the M5 but a great alternative if you don't have the $$$$.

Why do they always drive Holden sourced cars in the wet?

Thats like the 3rd time they have reviewed the VXR. It's great and all, but we've seen it. BRING ON THE M3, C63, and GTR REVIEWS!
