Downpipe gaskets? Dealer or AR Bomb proof?
Installed N54tunings downpipes today,
Beautiful downpipes, incredible construction, fit like a charm, no issues, But the gaskets they supplied are really poor, I guess from being in the bag with the supplied nuts and bolts they get pretty beat up in shipping, a lot of lead flakes were in the bag, Needless to say, they leak, a little, When I was under the car I could feel the air escaping a little from one, but no noise which is strange, I was expecting a put put put put from it, Anyway I want to replace the gaskets, whats everyones take on a good set of worry free gaskets?

BMW replaced my turbos 400 miles ago before doing DP and I am using the OEM ones because when they replaced turbos they installed new gaskets. You can buy some decent ones from Autozone as well. No need to buy AR bomb proof ones. Waste of money and marketing crap/hype IMO.

Just had new turbos installed today by Ivo (Dzenno from PTF highly recommends him) and he used OEM gaskets on my AR downpipes and stated to me that the AR gaskets installed before the turbo swap had deteriorated.
He felt quite strongly that OEM's held up better. |

Thanks guys,
I think that due to packaging the bolts with the soft gaskets from n54tuning it just killed what chance these gaskets had I brought it to mikes attention and he said in the future they will package them different as I'm not the first to "complain" if that's the right word
