Why does every HID kit have one that works and one that doesn't!

I ordered a nice top dollar( after buying a few cheap kits) HID kit and warning light cancelers, get them and put one side on, works perfect get to the next side and boom doesn't come on.. This is like my 5th set I've bought that is crap. So still no HID fogs for my M3 bumper w/ projector fogs Anyone else ever have this issue?

I just bought another kit, so at least 1 will work with that, and then ill send back the non working ones all together..

End Rant.

I've had one for 9 years bought it from DDMTUNING.com They used to be a sponsor for another bmw site. Great HID kit. I paid 35 shipped. It's still pretty cheap.

Im happy to see more satisfied people. I tell everyone just buy DDMTUNING kits rather than ebay lights. I have another kit on my M3. I put 5k HID kit on my fog lights and I get complimented all the time. I really like the yellow fog light look though only on black bmws.

I had the same issue. I used some older slim ballast that I had laying around, new error cancelers from ebay, and new 9006 bulbs. The drivers side worked the first time. Got over to the passenger side and it didnt work. I had to switch the polarity coming into the ballast for it to work. I tried switching the polarity going into the error cancelers but it didnt do anything.

Not sure what happened, but everything was hooked up correctly at first. Maybe the cancelers are the problem.

I have the rep m3 bumper as well.

Yea i have no clue, i ordered another set of each cancelers and hid kit, so if it doesn't work then obviously the kit isn't compatible with my car.. I am frustrated with these stupid ass things, but they look so much better than a regular bulb.. I don't even turn the fogs on at all for now, till the HID's work/

Do HID fogs actually make a difference? I put some white bulbs in my fog lights and I rendered them useless. I can't see a projection at all other than they look good lol.

HIDs in the M3 rep w/ projectors will blow your mind lol.

The projectors actually have a really decent cut off and I can tell a huge difference with them on and off. I highly recommend HIDs to anyone with the M3 Rep bumper.

Always buy oem parts and make your own hid system.

Pay for what you get!

There isn't any OEM HID fog I'm fairly certain of that. If you're suggesting to buy OEM ballasts for headlights and somehow modify them for fogs that would be a waste of money and very hard if not impossible.

Ok if you think so. Oem ballasts in my mind are a must. . And always a way to retrofit. Out of my past 5 cars.. Each of them had a hid retrofit done by myself. Oem ballasts and bulbs. Etc.. never flickering or burnt bulbs..

Yea you aren't gonna retrofit that into a fog light i don't think. But sounds to me like DDM is the best bet for a good working kit..

have no kits ever worked on your car? some hid kits have the polarity flipped so try turning the connectors around

Have you tried the HPB BMW E90 / E92 HID Fog Light Kit? I've had their kits on all my cars for years.

The HPB kit is specifically designed for BMW's where as most other kits are just universal in nature.

However, if you have a 2007 coding is usually required as their ECU is different.

Because the random stuff is just that... random. Not worth it. Quality kits will cost a little more but will be worth it.

This. I had the same problem. One of my lights was reverse polarity. Try plugging it in backwards.

They can definitely be reversed on the ballast side.

Well found out that was my issue and the 2 hid kits both work perfectly fine..

Im retarded, the M3 style front bumper has to use adapters and the body shop that did the bumper had one of the connectors reversed. The regular light bulb still worked (weird) but the HID kits would not..

So this whole time it was just the connector needed to be reversed.. Installed them and they came out great!! No warning lights, and come right on with no issues with the plug and play can bus kit..

Sorry for the crappy daylight pic.. Will get better ones soon.
