Way to turn off TPMS?

My TPMS keeps malfunctioning, warning me even when my tires are perfectly fine. I've reset it many times and had it in to the dealer twice, and it keeps malfunctioning.

Is there a way to just turn the damn thing off, so I don't have to look at the warning sign?

What do people do when they mount tires that don't have TPMS? (Like, if I were to get winter tires without it? Or replace the RFTs? Do most people who get non-RFT drop the ATPM at that point, or do they keep it?)

Thanks~ Tim

No. I asked the dealer to do this, and they said there was no way. I have aftermarket wheels, and I decided not to put the TPMS sensors in. What is the big deal ... it just beeps at you once, flashes a few times on the small led warning light and then stays on. The way my steering wheel is aliened; I can't even see that little warning light.

I can see the warning light from where my steering wheel is set, and more to the point, I'd rather be monitoring other things in that space. Sometimes I keep the average MPG up, sometimes range (when I'm getting low on gas), etc. But the warning image overrides it. It's annoying.

But yes, I've heard there's no way to turn it off. So I guess my best bet is to get whatever tire I want, as long it's compatible with TPMS, and try to get my whatever's broken, fixed.

Yours must not be working right ... or they work different when you don't have TPMS installed. With mine, the larger warning light only comes on right at first, with a quick beep, and then goes away. The small one is the only one that stays on. I can keep avg MPG or whatever I want up there in the large display, and it's fine.

I know a friend of mine had TPMS in his Lexus, he had a small cylinder machined and added a schrader valve to one end threw the TPMS sensors in and kept it in the trunk... no light. I don't know if it will work on our cars though.
