v2.0.2-6mt installed
So I'd been driving with the bypass plugs for a few weeks and was anticipating a big change from stock to v2. Loaded the firmware, then overwrote v1.47 with v2.0.2-6mt. Drove around the local interstate for about 30 miles to let the car adapt, varying the application of throttle a few times over 3500, then over 5500, and finally to redline. Seems to have worked well, as the car kept yielding more power on each consecutive acceleration. After a point, it was ready to test from a stop, so I pulled onto a 55 mph road that had a few stop lights to test some 0 to, um, 55 runs.
Basically, even with DTC on, first gear will break the tires loose a little (could not do that with v1.47). But that next shift into 2nd gear, with WOT up to redline, is an instantaneous delivery of insane pull - daaayyuum! The 37°F weather tonight did not hurt power much. Awesome product Vishnu! Car is 03/07 build, running Quiktrip 93 octane. Last edited by zenmaster; 12-05-2007 at 01:57 PM.. |

BTW, like LACA335i I did notice some faint smells like oil and clutch burning. I shift correctly (with "mechanical empathy"), so this concerns me. I guess the answer is to reduce power delivery at lower RPM.
However, there was no "detonation". And at no time was the throttle response not linear (jerky or bursty). During a few adaptation pulls, it would hesitate. But, like 1.47, that was expected. It now has over 100 mi on v2.0.2 and drives fine. |

Glad you are happy...
I had similar results... After 6 tries to load the damn thing (COM port problems with my laptop to the PROcede) it finally worked. The 2nd and 3rd gear pulls are sick. With DTC fully off, getting sideways in 2nd is guaranteed. Even with my heavy ass 19x10 Rial wheels.. I haven't been able to do highway runs as of yet.. These runs were done on default settings with 93 Octane Sunoco gas. I can't wait to adjust the low end torque settings to 92-94%

+1. My car was fast before 420wtq. Its much faster now.. Probably an extra 30wtq or so... with the V2.02. I will post a dyno soon. Im going to fine tune it over the weekend I just have the V2.02 and our exhaust.

I went from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2. Two days of driving, its getting stronger.
Going to fine tune the boost tomorrow night!

Yep, coincidentally, I got that logo for the first time, the first night I tested v2.0.2. Very strong in cold conditions. Still not as fast as my RX-7, but gobs more low-end torque. Like I said, I'm concerned about the burning clutch smell.

Maybe not for the first couple of times. I didn't feel slip, just smelt the clutch burning. After a while, I expect slippage - probably as you say, in the 5th or 6th at first.
