RAF Fighter pilot Andy Green calls the Bloodhound SSC car his
"1,000MPH Office" The developers of the Bloodhound SSC supersonic car have revealed the cockpit of the vehicle. See it here (Just don't mistake it for something from the next Star Wars movie: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/s...00mph-car.html The team are hoping that the Bloodhound will travel faster than 1,000mph (1,610km/h) when they try to break the World Land Speed Record next autumn. The cockpit is made from a single piece of carbon fibre with an aluminium honeycomb spacing and weighs over 200kg, designed to withstand 130,000 horse power of engine thrust. Rolls-Royce jet engine powering BLOODHOUND SSC • First land speed record sponsored by Rolls-Royce A Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine will be used in conjunction with a custom designed hybrid rocket to propel the car to over 1,000 mph (1,600 kmh or Mach 1.4).
