Cobb Logs - How do they look?
I recently installed the Cobb AP Stage 1 Aggressive map on my car, and I am loving the improvement in power! Pulled some logs today, and I was wondering if anyone minds taking a look to see how they look? Hit 19PSI which I was surprised to see, Cobb's notes say max is around 12.5 for this map... so yeah... it feels strong.

I can't view your logs right now because my work blocks file sharing sites like dropbox but I would guess you didnt really hit 19psi...unless your IAT was very very high.
If it really was 19psi while accelerating then what was your actual load value? My 2011 335i with the Cobb stage 1 aggressive map seems to max out at about 145-150 "actual load." The bmw DME is extremely good at controlling load (and therefore boost, afr, and timing) so that kind of overboost would not be acceptable. What you probably saw was the boost spike when you went to shift. The boost value you were looking at is pre-throttle body and when you lift off the gas to shift the throttle blade slams shut and causes the apparent boost spike. Someone else that can view your logs can double check that this is what is happening but I would bet money on it. |

Agree with the above. Cant' look at the logs here at work. My suggestion would be to send the logs to Josh Dankel at Cobb. I have sent my logs to him and he has fine tuned things a bit for me (not like getting a PTF tune) which has really helped to smooth things out. I was getting some throttle closures that he fixed. I run the same map as you and the only way you are going to get 19 psi is as subaru335i described or if you start your log at to low an RPM. The other suggestion which helps to interpret logs for newbies is this thread from the N54 forum http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696472
Also there is a nice free website (http://datazap.me/)that allows you to upload your raw data and makes a nice graph. I think looking at both the raw data and also in graph form helps to interpret your logs. Lastly dont' just look at boost as Subaru335i mentioned. Look at requested load vs actual load. They should be nearly the same. Scott |

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I did send the logs to Cobb, Jacob was quick to respond and said all was well. The only problem with this mod is it makes me want a LSD even more!
