The piping themselves are I believe hard ABS Plastic. The Air box itself is made from aluminum and looks like it has been powder coated. The Filters themselves are oval and basically it has an aggressive OEM appearance. I did not mind spending 300 bucks on this peace of mind that its actually getting cold air and not heat soaking.
I was running the BMS cone and yea, it sounded great BUT I felt the car bog in hot weather sometimes. When I got out of the bay area heat and hit monterey 50 degree weather the BMS shined there. With the AFE once I mash the pedal the power is delivered evenly throughout the power band and it just feels like it pulls harder...
