^^ That one is mounted a bit high (for my taste). I'll have to take a pic of my mount next time I have it on. I prefer mine down at dash level.

There are two mounting options - the suction cup and the bean bag. I have both (use the latter for rentals, etc.). I position mine so that the lower edge of the Nuvi sits about a thumbs width off of the dash. Perfect visibility of the NAV and the road.

glad i saw this thread. thanks for all your opinions guys. i'm actually looking to purchase a garmin nuvi for my dad. i let him take my 335i and he immediately fell in love with the navigation system and now he wants one for his car. for sure, i want a garmin nuvi, but i'm torn on which model to get. should i get the nuvi 360 or the 660? the only difference is the screen size right? the 360 is $500 and the 660 is around $700. so is the larger screen size worth the extra $200? help!

I have the 350 (360 gives bluetooth which the BMW already has) and prefer it to the 660 for better pocket portability in pedestrian mode. I have not missed having a wider display since the orientation of the maps is strongly oriented to the vertical N/S axis

Other than the wider screen/bluetooth, is there any difference between the 350 and 660?

Triton - whassup in Wilmington!
The 660 is my first NAV, so I can't compare the two personally. The 660 also has RTTI available (free intro period then pay for it). Bluetooth (don't need it with my cars), and built in MP3 player (cute, but don't need it either). I have found the 660 to be a great unit, and even if I get a E90 with NAV, it will still be great to have for work travel and use in the E91, etc.

A nice vent mount would be good too.

the nuvi 660 is great however if you going to use your unit on the car get the StreetPilot c550 is alsmost the same as the nuvi however it have betters speakers and you can buy the VIB 10 that is an adapter r so you can listen to the voice commands and bluetooh from your car speakers (not sure if it works with the logic 7)
remember that the nuvi series is a travel companion that is why it have dictionary and other things that most users are not going to use. youc an get a StreetPilot c550 it have a better screen resolution the battery last longer and is cheaper

i was wondering, does it have its own internal speaker, or do you HAVE to use the FM modulation and broadcast over your radio to hear the voice prompts? Thanks

The Nuvi 660 has its own speaker, which I find most adequate. I haven't bothered using the FM modulator (hey, isn't that redundant since the M in FM stands for Modulation?). That way I can still be listening to my music and also hear the navigation instructions.

again you can get the StreetPilot c550 same features as the nuvi 660 plus more battery life, better screen lower price. just a little bigger however is a - $300 difference
here are the sizes nuvi 600 4.9" W x 2.9" H x 0.9" D c550 4.4" W x 3.2" H x 2.2" D btw: the nuvi 360 is traffic alert comparable but does not come with the adapter($180 extra) the nuvi 660 and the c550 does

I just picked up a 330 and for the price (under $300) you can't beat it. Since I need portability between vehicles, I'm planning to use this dash mount:
