PASSS!!! hard enough on your own/one person with a lift... you also need a special inverted torque... if you dont have it... dont bother... + you will need an impact gun to make sure all bolts are back to torque spec.

I installed full exhaust (headers, catback, etc) on a lowered vette on jack stands and rhino ramps. It was a tight squeeze under the car but me and a friend were able to do it ourselves over a weekend... I'm sure you would have no problem doing this with a BMW.

No prob! Good luck with the install! I might recommend getting something to help hold up the exhaust under the car while you are getting everything in place/tightening. I actually was able to use a jackstand under the car to help keep the exhaust in place while I was tightening. I'm not sure how long/heavy the exhaust on the BMW's are so it might be a good idea. Good luck!!

I just got a deal on the rhino ramps. My local Pepboys were selling the 12,000 lbs ones for $34.00, down from $55.00.
I tried them by backing the car on to them and it looks like there is PLENTY of space and they will be perfect for future oil changes as well. I believe that once the front is lifted on jackstands, it will be rather easy to do the install. Vasil |

+1...attempted to do an exhaust install once when the car was on stands/ramps and will never attempt to do it again. not much room to work with so it is hard to get any leverage. rusted bolts were also a huge problem.

yes if you want to simmply remove the hangers with the exahust (easier way for me, i had an inverted torque 3/8 adapter... you can purchase at autozone, or napa...)

I see. Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll keep the exhaust hangers installed and slide actual exhaust off the hangers...
