When I first had passengers in the 335i, they were always commenting about how smooth it seemed and they could barely detect the shifts themselves. But now after 4 months of driving I must be reverting back to my old ways because the shifting has been bothering me lately and I don't feel like I am in full control because of the delay. I was not going to do the CDV delete before but I am changing my mind.

Even if you clamp the line, a bit of fluid will come out. What is going to replace the fluid that comes out? Air! Will your clutch pedal fill the bubble of air? Maybe not, but I wouldn't risk it.

As for bleeding, there are all different kinds of bleeders out there, I personally like the handheld bleeders though. The better ones have a metal "pump" attached to the bleeder and run about $30-$40 usually. Plus you can use it to bleed brakes too. Just follow the instructions that come with it, main thing to really worry about is make sure the brake fluid reservoir does not run dry while doing it (easiest to have a friend/wife watching it and filling while you are bleeding). You are not going to be bleeding a ton of fluid if you clamp it right, so no reason to get a bleeder with a huge reservoir. If you do need the best one out there though, this is the one you want from bavauto.com for $70 |

Maybe it will, usually takes a while though. I know people are just trying to get around bleeding, but really its not the proper way to do it. Like Mr. 5 said, any fluid leaking out = air getting in, and air getting in = bad.

Still on the fence with this one. I've had the car for almost 3 months and, honestly, I've already adjusted my driving style to the CDV. Having two other MT cars, it's pretty normal to have to change my driving depending on what car I'm in...
