Aren't the NT05R and NT555R both drag radials with the NT05 being the newer model?

Can an Auto launch in second gear? Or will it down shift to gear 1 once I stomp on the gas!? Even if I'm in gear 3 on the highway and I floor it in M1 mode it downshifts to gear 2..

Is launching in second gear the quickest way to accelerate? Am I able to use boost brake launch in 2nd gear?

It is very difficult for me to get the 1st gear to launch correctly. And so far, there has been zero improvement with a 1st gear launch that I just tried.

Same 1.9 sec 60'. Same qtr mile as most of the 2nd gear runs. Same trap. Did have some spinning in 1st gear though, and then shifting into 2nd and going on spray, the traction/trans, and throttle modulation makes things a lot more tricky. You can hear it all going on in the video...Just so much less drama with a 2nd gear launch for the same results, lol.

11.4 sec at 130.4 mph....1.9 sec 60'
0-60: 3.7 sec, 0-100 7.4 sec

I can see that perhaps if it had perfect traction, 1st gear could be a benefit. Especially is it was a seemless 1-2nd gear shift like that of a DCT. But with the steptronic it is pretty tricky.

Time to upgrade the down pipes and cooling system. The stock internals can't handle Nitrous and Meth and Map7 on jb4 consantly.

I think hotrod should include a disclaimer when posting his 0-60 times. In a previous post, he mentioned that he uses the 1-foot rollout option when measuring times on his PerformanceBox.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ut#post6983149

Using the rollout option cuts the time by 0.3 seconds and is really measuring from 3-60 mph, not 0-60. So hotrod's time from a standstill to 60 mph is really 3.6 seconds and not 3.3.

If the uneducated what to know why there is a rollout feature in the PerformanceBox (primarily used for the 1/4 mile times), some reading can be found here: http://www.nogaroblue.com/27978/30426.html

It's the standard of measurement most magazines use, so the numbers that would be used for comparison. That would be like saying the 1/4 mile is .30 seconds off (which it is in the raw data) from my posted times...but everyone is probably more interested in the actual time that I get on the time slip, which is spot on equal to my Vbox with a roll out. Food for thought: launching in 1st gear would give it just about double the axle launch torque...with traction the 0-60 times would be phenomenal.

But the best thing to see the acceleration potential of this car is look at the 60-130 times. A stock 2011 GTR can do 0-60 in under 3 seconds, but they don't do a low 7
second 60-130. With proper traction this car would easily be in the sub 3 second range also. And...no need to worry about roll outs on those 60-130 times, lol.

I wonder what times a 335xi would put up for a 0-60 with power like yours.

Those Nt05R need to be warmed up. Did you warm them up prior to launching?
