Honestly $175 is a bit excessive for replacement bulbs. Call it what you want at the end is just a replacement bulb with off course a better light output than your regular halogens you can get umnitza Orion v2 or v4 for $100-150 more, but it's a big difference. For you to get the most of it this is a DIY task. I did mine a while ago and honestly I couldn't be happier.

I had a set of the LUX H8s in my 335d and one failed in 7000 miles. The more I read on reviews and forums this is common for them. Their response when I contacted them for a replacement was to tell me they were outside of the 1yr warranty and point me to a newer generation that is improved. Who in their right mind would spend another dollar on their products if they only last 7k miles? I would save your money!

Go with lux - awesome customer service and the newest bulb design is durable-
The first set I had didn't have the bulb covered they died but lux sent me a new set ASAP and they are the newest generation that have the bulb covered - I've been running mine over 3 years and look awesome - In anything if you take care of your costumer it equals success/ I always tell this to any service department I deal with- I'll never buy a brand that has shitty service especially auto service

Unfortunately LUX isn't giving free replacement bulbs to all customers with low mileage failures. They are taking care of people up to the 1 year mark. People who have several cars or don't drive much get screwed. The defective part still fails at a low mileage but it is out of the warranty. Good customer service looks past the stated warranty period and takes care of replacing all product with known design or manufacturing defects. At $100/bulb that is not a crazy expectation.
