This whole thread is based on a false assumption. The 2AAF code does not indicate fuel pump failure as discussed many times on the forum. And neither the car showed a hpfp failure sign. What's wrong with you people ?

If you are having that many HPFP replaced then clearly something else is causing them to fail. I think you may have a bad low pressure sensor or low pressure fuel pump. Go to a different dealer and have them check it out. You never know...

Other than a back seat the c6 is a great daily driver. I regret selling my FBO c6 to get into the beamer every single day. I put 40,000 miles on my vette in 11 months, 30mpg on the beltway, ran mid 11s at the track and never had an issue with the car. You would also be very surprised as to how well they do in the winter with the right set of tires. The new 5.0 is def a nice car and I am sure you will have no issues with it. I am also sick of these damn fuel pumps going out. Good luck

I have to return the favor and agree with you. The recall can be done whenever. No point replacing a perfectly working pump as you always risk what happened here.

I have a recall pending on mine but its been fine so no point getting it done. Injectors is something I would get done if you qualify for the recall on those.

Agreed. Cascading system failures suck...LPFP switch, then pump, then another pump, etc.
I'm at 40k miles with no issues and not planning to do the recall before I flip the 335 for a different car.

I've got an appointment tomorrow for new injectors, HPFP and software. As is I'm not seeing any long cranks or indications of them failing.. but am I feeling what could be described as misfires (strangely most noticeable in 3rd gear moderate acceleration). Any advice? I doubt there's a way to have them replace injectors but not HPFP...?

Theres probabaly more, the only good thing about my car is the engine and tranny. Not an ouch of oil burned, tranny shifts like butter. Everything else is shit

The BOSS is very well-mannered as a daily driver, very close to the stock 5.0. Also, the BOSS does have rear seats. The Laguna Seca version (I think like 750 of the 3000 total units) is the one with no back seat and R-comps. The non-LS version is most definitely a daily driver, without a doubt.

That being said, if OP doesn't feel like trying to find a BOSS quota without sifting through greedy dealerships (definitely possible), I'd recommend the 5.0 with the FRPP Handling Pack.

This is true, however since I got that pump every now and again I would get a weak start. Not a long crank, just a half assed start where the car idles at like 700-800 rpm instead of shooting up to 1300-1500. The 2aaf code was thrown 3 tiems already. 2 time at what appears to idle and 10xx rpm and 1 time at 58xx rpm. The high rpm one scares me.

I already go the low pressure sensor and low pressure pump replaced once before along with a new hpfp, that lasted ohhh 8k? Then the 881 pump went in and it was fine, no codes no isses. Then this 446 pump went in and here I am.


I have been looking at the 5.0 since they came out, but they are have major manual transmission problems and I don't think I could stand driving an auto. I am away on business for 2 months so the car just sits at home untill the weekends. Gonna ride it out and see how it performs and maybe another car will catch my eye.

I had a 2011 GT500 prior to the 335i car. You'll have your fair share of issues with this vehicle too. Especially if you're looking at something that isn't new. The most prominent problem is the 1-2 shift grind that really inhibits your speed at the track.

Something breaks on the c63 and its not different then this car. Something breaks on a mustang, its cheap and available almost anywhere.

you can fix everything with typical simple tools. the s52 is quite strong (typical failures are starting at 600whp) and its a hoot to drive

or........I would 100% get a ls3 used vette, mod that and then buy a winter beater. You cant beat the c6's on straight line and track ability.
