Here is something a little less common, at least in the daytime. A barn own taking his supper back to the nest. Taken at dusk at ISO 8000, 400mm f5.6, 1/1000 sec. Supper time by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

I always see them well after the sun's gone down and I'm shooting at a very high ISO, like you. This one is as sharp as it gets at ISO 8000!

Almost pulled the trigger during the after-chrismas sale at B&H. This is on my wishlist. Really love the creativity potential of those lenses.
Happy with it?

The Lens Baby lenses are cheap enough to buy and try and then sell if you don't like it. I sold mine for exactly what I paid for it. I had one for a while and never really warmed to the effect. That's just me, though. The lens is easy enough to use, although on the T-series Rebels the manual focus can be tricky.

I've used the entire range of their products and so far have found the composer PRO to be the best bet. The focus ring is much more refined than the basic composer.. and well, I quickly got annoyed with the muse and the control freak takes too much time/effort.
They truly are a lens that you either love or dont. I'm the prior. easy to use creative aperture discs, get exactly what you want in focus and with the double glass optic they are quite sharp! Or you cant get really soft images with other optics too.. pushes me to be more artistic and think through each of my shots. Unlike the massively automated AF lenses I normally use. Anyways, I shoot with it frequently.. |

I was looking at the base composer model which is single glass; but note taken; for $100 it might be worth it to go with the Pro.

Trition, I'm digging the nighttime B&W's.
I tried a friends Lens Baby once and it gave me a headache trying to use it! Not really my type of photography anyway, but I have seen some neat stuff done with them. Like others have said, cheap enough to give a try. |

OK, last bird shot for a while, I promise! This is a Northern Harrier at Bodega Bay California. There are raptors of all kinds all over the place here.

Yeah, I love 'em:
Rufous hummingbird (female) sizes up a wildflower by dcstep, on Flickr BTW, great flight shot. Dave

We don't get a lot of variety here in Colorado, mainly Broadtails and Ruffous. Did you get that Saphire in Houston or go on a trip?
