Thanks, Dave. I see that Canon has some mirrorless cameras also, but it seems the Sony is better than those models as well. I haven't had much time to research fully.

Yes it is! Taken from a spot just off of 1st street next to Cullen's Tannery Pub.

Perfect lighting and great composition. Makes me want to pick up the knife.

I took this picture before having the A7RIII using the Sony A6300 with a Sigma Macro150mm f/2.8 lens. Taken in my backyard at: ISO100, 1/160 s, F11 using flash.

The A6300/150MM Macro lens is a great combination for small insects.

Have you tried it with the 1.4x and 2.0x TC-IIIs? That's where my adapter got funky and slow.

This was with the 300 2.8 +2.0x. Not as snappy as with native glass, but certainly on par with my older Canons (not to mention no micro focus issues). I have used the 1.4 on the 500, but when you get the adapter plus lens plus tc its gets too unwieldy handheld for me as it gets too long. It would work great on a gimbal setup.

I was using my Metabones with the 500/f4 and it got really slow and unreliable with the 1.4x and close to unuseable with the 2.0x. That's old data, since I sold my big Canon two or three months ago and Metabones has probably updated their firmware since I last tried.

The Sony 400/f2.8 is incredible with either teleconverter, but it starts with a big aperture AND Sony updated the body firmware to maximize effectiveness of that lens.
