Perhaps we could collate evidence etc and make a sticky so as many owners as possible can get this sorted by BMW free of charge?

I've just phoned bmw cs and as my car is a 2005 guess what I'm not eligible for the update
but she wouldn't commit to saying my car wasn't affected but that it wasn't eligible.
It was bloody obvious that she knew my car was affected but just kept saying my car is not part of this and even tho I said there is evidence all over the bmw owners forums of pre 2007 cars being stolen the same way I just got the std if somebody wants to steal your car they will and a simple update won't stop that.
So bloody angry with bmw the way they say oh well bmw don't have to do this and our cars meet the security stds and all that bs

Can someone chime in on what BMW actually does with the 'fix'
Im on a 56 plate so don't expect anyone in BMW to give a toss but after disturbing 3 seriously suspicious skanks casing my car in the dark last night all tooled up I think i need to do something and fast.
