I have P/N 36146792829, which is the most common set of valve stems used with TPMS and were on the style 189 wheels. Can anyone confirm these fit the SF-71s without issue? Or will I need the longer ones that are on Style 230 rims (P/N 36136775937)? Or something else?

Update. So the shop that's trying to install the TPMS (pre-lci p/n 36236781847) are saying the sensors won't mount securely with the valve stems provided (p/n 36146792829). Apparently, the TPMS isn't stable and would move around if left as is. Anyone else run into this issue?
I don't think length is the problem. The shop said they'd need washers to take out the play but the oem valve stems don't come with any... Am I missing something here? ![]() Pick of the valve stems here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showphoto.do?id=36146792829 Last edited by nitehawk; 04-13-2013 at 08:44 PM.. |

I can't tell you the BMW part numbers, but for my SF-71s, I ordered the standard TPMS from TireRack, and they worked just fine. The valve stem part is Beru part number 0535.007.001.00.01. It doesn't look particularly long, so I suspect they're the regular ones, but I haven't seen both.
On the first one I did, I had a bit of trouble getting the washer to seat properly when screwing the nut down, but that was relatively easily resolved. Also make sure they're using the flat washer, and not the beveled one. Both should be in the box. |

I just find it so weird that the OEM kit doesn't come with a washer. Cant find anything on realOEM. No one tried using the OEM valve kit?

Update. So the newer style OEM valve kits come with a crush washer built into the nut. As you torque it down, it is supposed to deform and seat against the rim...HOWEVER, the shop is still not able to seat them securely against the rim. I guess the OEM style are not friendly to these aftermarket rims. I will have to get washers from the tpms rebuild kit or just order the full set from tirerack :/
