Just talked to the BMW guy at IMA and he is pretty sharp. Thinking of getting these:

Holy smokes. Didn't even realize I was reading a three year old thread!!

And that B to P car thing? I will have some form of twin turbo 911 before I am 40. I would like to say that is the next car I will buy, but I don't know if I have the patience!!!

Yes! I've probably done 100 suspension installs on E9X's and wouldn't touch it for that price. Maybe I could sub out my work to your guy!

Thats a very good rate. I've never actually heard of that quote but would like to know where it is so I can get my coils removed from my e92.

I have seen quotes up to 1k, so $150 seems too good to be true.

x2 not worth doing it for only $150 IMO! Uncompressing/compressing springs to swap over the top assemblies is the killer. Coilovers are easier.

Does the $150 include an alignment afterwards? I might do it in my driveway for that if I felt like helping you out, but I certainly couldn't take the time to do a good alignment as well for that price even if I had an alignment rack...

yeah, that was my point... I think my last alignment I paid something like $120 and it wasn't that far out. So $150 for the whole job I just don't see happening. Especially if it's a real shop and not your buddy who will work for $20 an hour.

i found a shop that does 60 for alignement. but again, i don't want to make any statement because i haven't been there. it might just be regular cars. not the car that's lowered already. but you can check anyways.

as ive argued in other threads before, ill keep this short. Anyone can do an Alignment, but it takes skill and knowledge to do it properly for the maximum benefit. Easy test is to ask them " if i run 3 degrees of camber how fast will my tires wear out?"

Tire wear is dependent on many factors, not to mention treadwear rating, so that question is a bit irrelevant. I used to get $60 alignments in NH with special requests (-3.1 camber) and had no abnormal wear issues. I've also paid $150 here and had abnormal wear.
I recently did Sears for $85 and it's perfect.

How involved is a charge pipe\intake install? I'm a DIY'er buy haven't ever really messed with automotive engines.

I've taken apart the entire interior and hard wired things, etc, getting into coding a bit, but agian never really messed with things in the engine bay...

What are the typical rates, and do those types of mods even really require a specialized shop?

If so - after reading up on IMA vs At Speed, I'm 1 hr 45m from IMA and now a bit uncertain on At Speed!

Any other suggestions perhaps near the Baltimore area?
