Looking for an Inspection shop in NYC that'll PASS as full bolton

I just moved up to NYC from Houston and realized that my car is due for an inspection

Can anyone recommend a shop that'll be able to "pass" a full bolton e92 without a dp fix, since i run a COBB & preferably in Queens. I had a shop in Houston that took care of it, am hoping the same in NYC.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

You will be hard pressed to find a shop willing to do that. Newer cars require that the car be hooked up to the OBD port and check for the readiness. That is also sent back to the DMv.So I'm not sure how the shops in Houston were able to circumvent that.

Very rare a shop will go out on a limb for an unknown customer to pass a State Inspection... Just spend the $100 and get a DP fix.

drive for about 100 miles afterwards and check that you have readiness before going to get an inspection.

I know a few guys who have their NYS inspection license. They won't risk their jobs just for one car.

Besides $100 was the going rate for a "pass" on obd1 cars a few years ago so OP might as well go get the DP fix as you suggested.

All you should need to do is:
1) Clear your codes
2) Go to a stock map so they can communicate with the OBD2
3) install a stand alone DP Fix (you will need to experiment a little for which setting works on your car... maybe 6' O Clock, then 5:30, and finally 5 O clock position on the dial). It's always safer to start at 6 O clock and work your way down if you get an SES light... if you do it the other way and get an SES light it is much harder to clear!!!!
4) Once you reach readiness... you are done my friend. *** By the way... this is not for defeating inspections... this is to get back your timing on your off road track car which should never be used on public roads ***

I know in NYS you can have 2 monitors that 'not ready'. Just from personal experience and researching the info below. And according to Cobb stage 2 map, it will set the emissions monitor not to be ready (So there's no CEL/SES light)

Can anyone confirm the cobb part??

HOW MANY MONITORS HAVE TO BE READY?
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guide- lines allow up to two monitors to be in a “not ready” state for model year 1996 through 2000 vehicles and one monitor “not ready” for 2001 and newer model year vehicles.

Only 1 not ready unless the car is older. I believe its 2002 and below now to have 2 unready. Newer that 02 can only have 1.

With a custom cobb tune you can make all the monitors always ready
