At 14psi our stock injectors cant spray enough E85 to keep the DME/ECU happy that's why our cars run lean on pure E85, where as on 93 octane we can run 14 psi comfortably. Even With A TUNE. Period this is not you Z or an STi or EVO which are all PORT INJECTED, the N54 is DIRECT INJECTED.

Yes E85 has a higher octane level than premium gas and I've helped work on a friends STi that runs it, but in order to make big power he had to upgrade his injectors and fuel pump and up the boost. E85 can make awesome power, but we currently do not have supporting aftermarket mods for it.
+1, I'll only run E85 when proper supporting mods are available, too risky IMO.

Boy, this thread came out of the woodwork. So much has changed in less than a year, as for the use of E85.

Here is my experience using a 40% E85 and 60 of 93 octane
Give it has already 10% mixed in it.

Boost response was night and day. Even running on low boost 1bar
Here is a little info, then read the FAQ. Regarding
Will it damage or ill effects to the engine, it will go to a YouTube
Skip the chick blabbing her mouth and look and the comparisons
Of 2 cars that were torn down. It may be bias but no sign of it being corrosive
Or unsafe. But still run a blend not straight 100%

So, please let me get this straight before i do something stupid.
Here in SoCal, running a stock car with pissy 91oct will work just fine on a mild tune for example. Adding lets say 2 gallons of E85, which we have right here in Huntington Beach, will up the octane allowing me to run a more agressive tune + dp and not f$ck up my fuel system?

Can everyone please please stop saying the injectors are too small and cannot inject enough fuel. My understanding from talking to people that know and research is the stock injectors are good 3000 cc/min worth of fuel in that neighborhood. This is WAYYY more then enough flow to run E85 up to obscene power levels. The issues our fuel systems have are weak LPFP, and very hard to upgrade / low flowing HPFP. The LPFP has been addressed in a few ways, our stage 3 car is the first one to run a parallel pump system on this platform, with the stock pump, and walbro E85 pump, got over 100 miles on it, no problems. Next thing inline is the HPFP. But the injectors are NOT a problem

Edit: Just realized this thread is OLD as hell. I hate when that happens
