328i top speed? Limited

Is there a way to code it out? Like using obd cable and software?

you can do it with the OFT. but it will still max out at 158mph.

I'll try setting it to 0 to see what happens but I'm not going to attempt to top it out.

tried 0mph. DME goes into internal error mode (fuel pump flashes on and off 5 times when you power it up). Won't start. I'll play with it some more but I don't think that will work. there may be another way to get it a bit higher, but I don't know if it really matters. how many people really go faster than 158mph? it must take forever to get to even 150.

it can probably be done with a mod to the program space, but I'd have to work on a disassembly.

I have done a few speed runs in mine, now I have an xi, so idk how much of difference that might make, but I do have a sport package and have GPS verified a limited top speed of 130, That shows as 135-137 on the speedo. I was told when I bought it that the sport package took the limiter up to 147

the thresholds are actually 128, 146, 150, and 155. there's a selector value for the different top speeds depending on your option package and presumably the region your car is in.
