50/50 can most certainly flame up and I know several cases locally and through forums.

Let me ask you this, if BMW had it's gas tank in the same fashion would you feel safe buying that vehicle? Methanol is a fuel, it should be stored in a proper tank designed for fuel.

Moreover, methanol is more corrosive and more flammable then regular gas.

First of all you don't have any pressure relief so you have a bleve waiting to happen. Once it pops the likely hood of it finding an ignition source in the trunk space is high enough to make me want to be 100% clear. If you leave that in your trunk this way your car will catch on fire at some point. Most likely the first warm day after install. This is honestly the stupidest thing I've seen on a car forum.

I think the dude who ported his intake valves by pouring sand in his intake while revving is far more stupid, but this is certainly more dangerous from a fiery-death perspective.

That guy, OP, and that one dude that drilled straight into his valve cover to fit a NOS nozzle are probably top 3 I've seen.

Thought of a couple more.
The guy that poured NOS energy drink into his gas tank thinking it was the gas.
And that guy that kept adding oil into his engine until he could see it from the top fill hole. Ended up being something like 27 quarts. Then comes to the forums and complains about wtf 6 quarts isn't enough oil.

In the interest of not burning to death I've taken apart my "plastic bag" meth reservoir. Won't have much need for it really this winter in New England anyway. BTW I was able to duplicate flaming 50:50 mix myself.

Using prepreg fiberglass, could one mimic the Australian under-floor trunk tank in a less costly manner, if those plastics set up fully inert to methanol?..dunno

Trial & error, best thing to do is exactly what you're doing. Fortunately you're smart enough to acknowledge the advice given, and remove it instead of risking it.

I think the concept is a cool idea, but make sure whatever you get is rated for liquids like Methanol. I think a slim tank that could fit in that compartment would be a sleek setup.

People make rubber fuel bladders for race cars and other applications. Sometimes they are called pillow tanks in marine applications. Find one rated for methanol and you're good to go.
