I've got a 58plate 320d with only 63000 miles and I've got a similar judder. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. I took it to BMW as I have an insured warranty with themselves and they said it would be wear and tear on the friction surface. I don't believe that it is as I know lots of people on the forum have had the flywheel replaced because of the said judder. Maybe I've got a rubbish dealer in Stoke

I got mine done recently due to the flywheel bearing failing, friend charged me about £100 labour and cost price for the parts, about £450 for LUK clutch and flywheel.
That's best case really. I did gearbox oil at the same time too. Car felt brilliant after, still get the odd judder when cold/pulling away though, design fault I think. |

Clutch changes are a piece of pi##. That's bread and butter basic work for any garage.
3 hours max, so £150 at most indie places. Engine out my arse! What plonker mechanic said that? Once the box and clutch are off, ten minutes to change the flywheel too. Make sure they fit new flywheel bolts, they are use-once items. Also replace release arm and bearing, but they are usually in the kit these days. Last edited by doughboy; 01-14-2015 at 10:37 AM.. |
