AFE install issues

I just installed an aFe 51-11912 Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System on my 2012 BMW 335I, and was less than impressed with one thing. The connection from the new intake tube to the stock lower tube. AFE includes a cast urethane adapter that slips over stock piece and inside of it's tube. However, this forces the position of the band clamp off the end of the stock tube and makes it want to slip off if you tighten it past a certain point. I think it would have been much better to have designed it to reuse the stock clamps and bellows.

Just curious if anyone else has had the same experience? Has anyone had it come of while driving? I would think it would throw a code since it is after the mass air flow sensor.

thanks

Thanks for the responses. I bought the pro Dry version so no worries about oil on mass air flow.

Ingen intake is better. It's actually a whole new intake system instead of something that uses the stock piping.

Update

Just spoke with AFE tech rep. Apparently the system I bought was an older design. They have since changed the coupling to an external version (see pic). They are going to send me a new tube and coupler. Will let you know how it turns out.
