I love these posts, just run E85 completely without a tune, you werent following directions to begin with

Or run Stage 2 Aggressive with none of the fuel or parts that are recommended/suggested/required. Same concept

Same concept, but your example is an extreme. I think the real question is looking for an answer from experience in a situation where a configuration is slightly stretched from a paired tune.

We're talking a mid grade tune with some supporting mods except a larger FMIC. Not full stage 2 tune expecting DPs etc with none of that present.

But thanks for the feedback.

I'll just say this, you are a very bold (or extremely rich or stupid) person to continue to run any tuning without a FMIC, eventually those temps will do you in and something will give.

Do yourself a favor and get the FMIC, it is a blessing to have it and could be a potential nightmare without it.

Too much boost without proper cooling will result in timing corrections and potentially your vehicle riding the knock sensor, not ideal/good.

Get the appropriate mods for the MAP you want to run.

FMIC should have been one of the first mods anyway. Anyone still on stock FMIC is doing not only their engine a disservice but robbing power and consistency, especially after heat soaked.

@Rob_BMW_PNW - you're an elitist dick.

my original post was to see if anyone tried running the cobb stage 1+ FMIC without an intercooler - if logged, show the differences. Ultimately, did overheating really happen as hypothesized? It's obvious that an FMIC is recommended as part of the map name.

fyi - i ended up getting a mishimoto FMIC. thanks to all those than gave helpful feedback. This forum is great because of helpful collaborative feedback.

Cobb removed ATR and none of us can get a custom tune anymore. They will be releasing the updated version, and you will have to pay for a training in order to use it.

Btw GET an Intercooler. I saw my IATs drop from 130+ to no more than 110 on hard pulls
