Any E9X M3 as long as it's a DCT, so E90,E92, E93.

Sorry for the noob question. Picked up my e92 dct 2 months ago. So don't really have much experience with dual clutches in general. Will this affect the lifespan of the dct? Since it's shifting "faster" which probably results in a little harsher shifts. Basically it's working harder than the stock software.

I have Alex's tune on my car with the Rogue test pipes and I love it. The shifts are incredibly smooth and fast. The car has noticeably more power with the software and pipes. Couldn't be more happy.
As for putting the tune on your car, one piece of advice I have for everybody. Make sure your car is on a charger while the tune is getting uploaded, a loss in voltage can cause interruptions in the software successfully being downloaded. |

Okay...having installed this DCT tune from Alpine, few things I'm experiencing and noticed after driving for about a month now.
Auto mode: (normal driving) 1- Change into 3rd gear has become slower than stock 2- Change into Reverse is faster, Change back to Drive is the same as stock. 3- Rev matches down to 2nd and 1st gear more often..feels a bit too often. Manual mode: (spirited driving) 4- definitely more aggressive and noticeable faster upshifts under load. It's fantastic! My question is, if there is a gain somewhere (in this case aggressive upshifts), is it normal to have some kind of loss elsewhere? (ie points 1 and 3 above)

I ended up scheduling my coding at a time when I had to be at work, and assumed I could park close enough to get work wifi, which is fast. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good spot, so I had to fall back to using a T Mobile hotspot, which most of the time operates in the 20+ range, but at that spot at work, was probably only getting about 5. It still worked, but was dreadfully slow -- probably took about an hour, when most people report 20 - 30 minutes. Making matters worse, it was a pretty hot day, and I think the hot spot overheated killing the connection at one point, so I had to move it to my roof. I think the connection also dropped a few times during coding, which Alex recovered from, but frankly is probably not a great idea given what is being overwritten in your ECU. TL;DR -- make sure whatever internet you are using when you get coded is reasonably fast and stable.

Hi guys. My first post. On the verge of pulling the trigger on a 2010 Monte Carlo E92 M3. Car has an Evolve GTS DCT with the ECU tune.
My concern is the car shifts rather hard at WOT, more of a jolt at every upshifts on D5. According to the owner, its normal. I drove 2 other stock M3s before this and the upshifts were rather smooth. Any advice on this? Regards Last edited by Bus Driver; 11-04-2016 at 10:13 AM.. Reason: Delete word |

This is because BMW is taking advantage of the inertia of the engine to give you an extra little boost when it shifts at WOT This is not a mistake or an error. If you WOT shift while turning the system will not give you the boost as it doesn't want you to lose traction |

Just got my GTS DCT Flash and custom coding done by Alex.
Alex is a networking/software genius cause I had a lousy set up between my cable provider, older MacAir laptop, and he still managed to knock it out. Took around 45 mins once we squared away my networking issues. Regarding the GTS transmission update: The difference is insane at lower speeds. The car doesn't jerk around between 2nd & 3rd like it's trying to buck you out. The regular upshifts are much better as well and way faster. BMW should really have made this standard for everyone. The custom coding is exactly as you'd expect. The folding mirrors with the comfort access is legit! Alex also added adaptive headlights, real nice. He also let me know I needed a motor update, which I will be doing soon. Well worth it. Highly recommend going with Alex and Alpine.

Please elaborate. This sentence is incomplete.
Alex, where in the LA area are you located? Interested in the GTS tune and some coding options. Thanks!

![]() I've only posted in this thread 3 times (all in the past two weeks) and thats how fast it got done. He even sent the K+DCAN cable to me here in Vegas. Alex is easily available for any legit client. His work has been appreciated on the threads for years cause he does excellent work.
