MHD Fuel Pump toggle switch

So I got tired of being paranoid about the battery dying during a flash. I ended up pulling the fuel pump fuse bur got tired of Reinserting the fuse.

I ended up building this. It's a toggle switch that in series with the fuel pump fuse. turn the switch off to disable the fuel pump. flash and turn it back on.

I used a fine jumper. 35A switch and 20A fuse. $10 later we have this ghetto contraption that works flawlessly.

Would also be a pretty stealth immobilizer if hidden properly.

You should probably look into getting a battery if your worried about a 10amp draw for 2m30s. Unless your doing full writes all the time for no reason.

I agree but it's a super cheap insurance policy for a faulty battery or if your alternator isn't working properly

Can't understand the purpose of the fuel pump running during the write to begin with...

I don't either but it has to be part of the re-coding logic. Doubt there is anything they can do about it unfortunately.

Hi..i ama new user here. I am also facing one issue i was wondering if i could hook up my fuel pump directly to the battery and a toggle switch in the middle so i can run my fuel pump since there is a problem between the ignition and the fuel pump. i know its a lazy way to do it but i just want to be able to move my 7 around and get my other cars in my garage. so are there any write ups about this or any advice you guys can give me ?
