m3 arms fitting tomorrow, headlight rod?

Am having m3 arms fitted and an alignment tomorrow, but i haven't got an m3 headlight levelling rod yet..... can leave the old one off and fit the m3 one another time? I wont be able to get one in time now. I.e will the new one still line up with the hole when everythings back together?

Given the limitations you've set for yourself, you'll either end up blinding oncoming traffic or having ~20 ft of illumination in front of you...pick one.

You don't need new rod. Modify your existing rod.

No. Make a hole on plastic pivot and run a little bolt through it to connect the leveling rod with the control arm. Is ridiculously easy. I have done many this way including my own 335i that has been holding for going on 5 years now.

I also forgot to order a new rod.

I don't fully understand your modification description. Could you clarify?
Do you mean to take out the control-arm clip from the rod and then run a small bolt through it? Then connect it back to the new m3 arm.

There was so much drama back in the day over this rod. People were insisting that you have to purchase the m3 part. Mostly coming from people that have shop do the work. There is ZERO tension there. I'm glad it worked out and sure that it will last you very long time.
