This is a must read for anyone before they start making claims in areas they don't understand:
Maximum-Boost by Corky Bell

My gut is telling me that a big component of why the stock snorkel setup doesn't look as good on the dyno is that its seeming more restrictive than it really is as its not getting the same airflow rammed into that it would otherwise see driving at the 100+ miles per hour (like what you're doing on the dyno). This is also one of the same reasons that larger intercoolers that test well on the dyno don't show the same gains in real world driving when the IC has full airflow across it. BTDT.

Here is another dyno cheat to test better, install puller fans on your IC. On the dyno you'll see immediate gains. On the street the fans don't come anywhere near the ambient airflow created by driving and actually reduce airflow through the IC and hurt performance.
Good ole Corky! Hahaha shiv installed my XEDE beta at Corkys shop. Guy knows his turbos.

I'd kill to pick his brain about my "home built" turbo system I did for my Lotus. I've quickly developed a respect for what real engineering is versus the approach that most of us take which is hitting everything with a big hammer.
