RSA Delete Failed during WINKFP flash, now won't start

I searched and read a bunch of threads and didn't see my same issue. If there are any coding/flashing/programming experts I'd love some help right about now. I shouldn't have attempted it tonight as I have so much to do, but now the car is cranking, but not starting. I was hoping to flash the 3IM software from bimmerlabs after having installed the manifold. I was so tempted by the "simple" batch file installation.
Thank you in advance.
I'm using the bimmergeeks cable set to latency 1.

I am using Windows 10 with bimmergeeks install of their latest version of standard tools.

Did you have the ignition turned on? Have you tried running the flash again?

Yes, the ignition was on in position two. I tried it again and received the same error. I hear what I believe to be the fuel pump running constantly now when the ignition is on. I even tried flashing the second file which actually does the conversion but that didn't work either obviously.

I would contact someone to remotely code it for you.

The fuel pump is running because the parameter space is empty. Flashing the program erases the parameters, because it uses that to check the contents of the boot sector.

Do you have boot sector update turned off in COAPI.INI? (this isn't the same thing as the boot sector that does get modified in the RSA delete/unlock).

I don't think that will help (this isn't "coding" either). There's something wrong with the configuration of the software or cable. The batch file will work and is pretty much foolproof.

By any chance are you using a Mac with Windows installed on a VM? Because that will not work. It messes up the timing of the cable and ends up writing garbage to the DME.

I used a 13 year old dell laptop (with an icom, not a bimmergeeks cable), and the first time i tried (a couple years ago), it failed to flash. The voltage dropped too much during the flash. I hooked up my car to my girlfriend's nissan and started up hers, to use her alternator to keep the voltage up, then the flash worked.

When it failed, it did the fuel pump on thing like you describe.

What are you using to keep the battery charged?

And, as @hassmachine mentioned, are you running on a "real" PC, or a VM?

Thank you again for your time and replies.
I did add BsuActive=OFF to the mentioned .INI file before any flashing. I also use a Dell Latitude with WIN10, so no Macs.

I attached an automotive power supply tonight and tried reflashing. This is the error I received.

I’ve had a positive experience with TopGearSolutions. I’ve used them twice now. Once to get some miscellaneous codings done and another to code my fuel pump EPK module for stage 2 fuel pump.

Since you did not seem to pick up on hassmaschine's response, I suggest you google the difference between "coding" and "programming" as it relates to BMW electronic modules. TopGearSolutions seems like a fine outfit but they are not going to be able to help the OP here. It's not a "coding" problem.

I wish I had more updates for those interested, I just don't have any.
Flashing without the power supply using the Bimmerlabs batch file gave errors 211, 9000, and 2000.
Flashing with the power supply gave errors 211, 9000, and 2084.
The voltage with the power supply at the under hood terminals was at 13.6V.
I've been told that the errors are maybe due to my settings being incorrect - I believe regarding the cable. If anyone has any idea how to check/adjust/set them properly with the Bimmergeeks cable, please let me know. Thank you.

...It's been one week now and I'm so tired of driving a Toyota!

Hi again. I tried a friend's laptop with his fresh install of windows and bimmergeeks bmw tools. I am still getting the same fatal error. I tried it again with the auto power supply. The batch file starts. The two files are copied. Winkfp loads and one process goes from 0 to 100% really quickly, but the second process shows 0% for about five seconds. After that winkfp closes and it returns to the dos box. Then the uploaded error file is displayed. I am obviously willing to pay. I miss the z4 too much and it's blocking my aunt in the driveway. Hassmachine said the ecu should still be ok, but maybe it's not now. I appreciate any advice!

I would offer to you to borrow my ICOM in hopes that it would work better, but unfortunately it has been on the fritz recently and I wouldn't trust it on anyone else's car :/

Which version of windows have you tried? and 32 or 64 bit? also where did you get the drivers for the bimmergeeks cable from? (driver cd, website, native windows drivers, etc)

Can you post screenshots of the USB COM Port settings?

When you open INPA, are you getting vehicle status? (the little dots for battery and no ignition)

Can you get to the function that reads the UIF data?

I appreciate the offer.
Windows 10 Home 64 bit only. I install it under Win7 compatibility mode every time.
I'm using the native Windows FTDI driver - version 2.12.28.0 from 16AUG2017.

I receive the status dots in INPA.

I believe I can access the UIF. I added a screenshot.

Does anyone think I should try to update the DME with normal spdaten files just to get the car running? Or since the rsa delete failed would that cause even worse problems?

Thanks for the link. I'll try switching the baud rate when I get back Wednesday. I already connected the power supply but that didn't help.
I still wonder if I just try flashing a factory ecu from the daten v65 that I have installed will allow the car to run, even though it's not enabling the three stage manifold.
The extra horsepower is such a low priority now. I just need it back running. Thanks again!

Yup, i agree with trying to flash the stock firmware. Charge your car overnight as well. I'm not sure how much of a difference the charge, baud rate, or key in ignition 2 made, but all of those things definitely couldn't hurt.

Couple other things to check as well. See nickski's post here during an Alpina B3 flash:
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...=873746&page=9

And desi4life's suggestion (tienyurl link, remove the e)
https://tienyurl.com/y2hcj3c4

From research I've done so far, ERROR_ECU_SECURITY_ACCESS_DENIED__SECURITY_ACCESS_ REQUESTED seems to typically be related to serial port, EDIABAS.ini, or WinKFP flash settings.

I have the PowerMAX PMBC-55M. I also charged my car battery before each flash attempt with my ctek charger. I love that charger.
