For swirls, i use Poorboys SSR1 and SSR2 and an orbital Porter Cable 7424. But that's really for a car full of swirls. Supposedly, you can take a light polish such as menerza or SSR1 and remove light swirls by hand using a soft microfiber towel, but I've never actually tried it. You could try a cleaner wax such as Mother's, to see if it takes care of the etching, and move to a polish if it doesn't work out. Good luck!
