I've had about 10k of experience on the SPT's (before they went bald due to my driving habits). I replaced them with Bridgestone RE760 sport. I can say that the ride quality of SPT's are comparable if not better than the Bridgestones.

But both General and Kumho SPT give good bang for the buck.
The General is very square, how are the SPT comapre looks comparable to General look?

Do you mean the shoulder area? The SPT's have a wider contact patch and therefore the sidewalls stick out past the face of the wheel. Easiest way to describe this, is with the same exact wheel/tire size, if you let the wheel with SPT's fall over, the wheel face will not strike the floor. On the same token, wheels with SPT's tend to rub more than wheels with Generals if wheel width/offset and tire size stays the same.

I ran my best 1/4 mile times so far on a set of 275 General's so you can go figure yourself...prior to that I ran on the same track, same conditions, with twice as expensive GoodYear Eagle F1s and Michellin Pilot Sport 2s...General's FTW!!!!

i didn't prefer the generals that much at all..i guess they are a bang for the buck..bu on every car i've had them on they have only lasted 15,000 miles at the most. they have a mushy sidewall and it is noticeable at times when comparing it to the kumhos. they will not be embarrased to SQUEEEEEL. they run very narrow and i think that is the reason (besides the infamous potholes) why i have ended up with four bent wheels, they don't offer much lip protection. GENERAL co has labeled it an all season tire, but trust me it is not! the kumhos will offer better grip in dry and on par wet performance with the general (which i must say did grip extremely well in wet conditions)overall, KUMHO FTMFW!

because the sidewall is mushy, helping you launch

Comparing a tire on the strip (1/4 mile is a drag strip, not a track) to a tire on the track is not comparing anything at all. That is why they make drag radials, they have softer sidewalls. The PS2's and F1's are handling tires for the track, therefore stiff sidewalls which will spin more on a drag strip trying to launch.

I've run the Kumho's, Hankook's and Vredsteins on my E46. The wheels I bought came with the Hankook's which were decent tires, got the Vredstein's next and hands down better experience, great handling wet and dry(with what wet we get in SoCal) and quiet, got real cheap and bought the Kumho's and they're good for the price, handle as well as the Hankook's did but damn they are loud. I'd get the Vredstein's myself again and when I need to replace the RFT's on the E90 that will be my choice unless I can't source them easily.
