Chill the hell out people. Attacks on other members and offensive posts are against forum rules and you will lose your member privileges here if you choose to ignore that. Sorry, had to clean up the thread and remove the off-topic posts.
These MT vs. AT pissing contests are getting real old.

Shiv said he is not too aware of Chevron gas since it's not sold up in Northern California where he is located. Of the major gas suppliers it seems that Shell Union 76 Chevron are the 3 leaders of what Shiv and Harman like best. It seemed to be a consensus though that Mobil was to be avoided as apparently there gas is lower quality or doesn't have the octane points they always claim. Edit: Now I see why the tuners don't like Mobil gas. To my surprise, I google searched "Top Tier gas" and I found a list of what BMW, GM, Honda, and Toyota consider "Top Tier" gas. These four manufacturers apparently demand better testing than what the Fed Gov. requires. Well.... Mobil is NOT a Top Tier gas!!! That was a big surprise since their Mobil 1 synthetic oil is well known for being one of the best. But they apparently don't use the same high standards in making their gas. So much the better. Exxon/Mobil makes too much F-in money anyway. Now I REALLY have a reason to NOT buy their gas.... it sucks! Last edited by Driver72; 02-17-2007 at 07:52 PM.. |

The funny thing is that where I live in the Bay Area, 76 gas is the cheapest of all the ones listed below.
I was also surprised at Mobil. Having interviewed there before, I must say that most of their image comes from successful marketing. Their marketing guy mentioned they focus a lot on the 'storefront' appeal. You will rarely find a 'rundown' looking Mobil, and thus it contributes to their image as a 'premium' brand. But talking about gas is off-topic. I must say that the posted dynos are awesome! Love seeing the data. I wonder what's the difference between the XEDE and PROCede. Earlier topics mentioned +10HP +20-30 LB-FT, but the procede variation makes the result look similar to the xede? I haven't compared them side by side. Quote:
