I am thinking of the Eibach Prokit & Bilstein HD shocks set up.

I think the Eibach pro kit comes with Koni FSD's. You should check out the H&R Street Performance coilovers kit. Not that much more than the Pro Kit...plus it's adjustable. I too may end up getting these if I do decide to just stick with my 330i...until a frikin turbo comes out!!!

I believe it'll be cheaper if you buy it as a kit/set. The H&R coilovers should not be more than $1,650 to your door. I'll give you an exact quote from Kevin a bit later.

It's really hard to extract power from the 330 engine without going FI. You'll be spending a lot of coin to get maybe 15 to 20 hp?
The 330 is a great value compared to the price of a 335, but once you factor in the modding costs, the 330 isn't going to be that much ahead, if at all, for the money spent. Plus, you'll never get anywhere near the power of the N54 with N/A mods. Honestly, I think you already know the answer (and knew it from the time you posted). You're just trying to avoid it!

You look confused, don't you? It depends on how many budget you are willing to spend it on your car!! I had this experience before, I want to modified my 335 like a sport car, and modified individual style because I don't like my 335 looks like original and normal, and I was not satisfied with my car due to option is not enough yet. "Modding is like a drug, I don't know when I am able to stop it, maybe that is my hobby. So I decided to modified my car. Of course, this car spent me a lot of money as well, but I thought it is worth to do that.
In conclusion, as a friend, you have to analyze between advantages and disadvantages. How much abilities you can handle to it. I also drove 328 before, I love this car very much. If I drive 328 again, I will change the coilover, exhaust, and buy the rims next. I am not sure whether I am right, this is what I said!! |

An exhaust is a waste of money IMO if you want to make HP gains, unless you really want a loud "look at me" exhaust.
I would get a LSD with shorter gearing. It'll probably set you back $3000, but it will make your car faster than an exhaust and make your car handle better. |

The TMS 3.64 final drive and Quafe (sp?) would be an ideal setup in terms of driveline/transmission upgrade. What diff slip ratio would you recommend for street and occasional track? 30/70, 20/80?

The 330 and 328 are damn fine cars as is the 128. That being said, the N54 will likely go down as a legendary tuning platform. You only live once so why not? I would highly recommend getting into a 135i or 335i. The only downside is early on set facial wrinkles caused by the perma smile you will get every time you step into the cockpit.
